it’s OWL Makeathon

From May 27 to 29, 2020, the it’s OWL Makeathon will take place under the patronage of Minister Andreas Pinkwart. The aim of the Makeathon is to develop digital solutions for overcoming the crisis. Creative and committed minds from universities, research institutions, companies, start-ups and the creative scene can take part. They work digitally for two days on 15 specific challenges. These include the development of digital services, the redesign of supplier networks, the digitalisation of sales, data transparency in production or autonomous driving to optimise the movement of goods. In addition, approaches are being sought on how home office and childcare can be better combined and how cooperation in product development across different locations can be optimized. The best idea is to be implemented with a funding amount of up to one million euros.

Artificial Intelligence in medium-sized companies – in theory and practice

What is actually hidden behind artificial intelligence and why is it worthwhile to deal with this topic at all? At the event “Artificial Intelligence in medium-sized businesses – in theory and practice”, use cases and practical examples will be presented, which will help participants to learn how data evaluation with AI works. Among other things, it will be clarified what AI can make possible for a company, what the company needs for it and where the use of AI makes the most sense. To this end, the participants will receive basic theoretical information on machine learning and neural networks and will be informed about free support services.

Part of the event is a virtual tour through the worlds of experience of the Open Workshop Cologne.

LWDA 2020

LWDA, which expands to „Lernen, Wissen, Daten, Analysen“ („Learning, Knowledge, Data, Analytics“), covers recent research in areas such as knowledge discovery, machine learning & data mining, knowledge management, database management & information systems, information retrieval. The LWDA 2020 conference is organized by Fraunhofer IAIS and the MLAI group at the University of Bonn. The conference brings together the various special interest groups of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (German Computer Science Society) in this area. The program comprises of joint research sessions and keynotes as well as of workshops organized by each special interest group.
