Updated AI map: now also available for companies

In March 2021 we added another feature to our AI map aimed at economic key players in North Rhine-Westphalia. From now on, companies offering AI services – i.e. services, software or hardware – are able to register for our AI map.

KI.NRW published in 2020 an AI map to provide a comprehensive overview of North Rhine-Westphalia as an innovative AI location. The map lists AI experts from business, science and research and consists currently of approx. 300 entries. To solve the handling as easy as possible, the map has been equipped with a detailed filter to navigate through the various map levels.

Since the update we are now listing also companies that offer AI services. Such offerings may consist of: Consulting, Development, Software, Software-as-a-Service, Hardware, Smart Devices or Qualification. Companies in this category may deal with the intelligent optimization of injection molding processes in the automotive industry, voice-controlled assistance systems for intensive care medicine, consulting in the areas of data science, analytics and IT strategy, or reinforcement learning to improve classic control and regulation processes.

This update establishes the AI map as the only directory in North Rhine-Westphalia that lists and continuously updates companies with such a profile. The entry is free of charge for companies.

The integration of “offering companies” is the second major update of the AI map. With our first update in 2020 we integrated study offers in NRW (FH/Universität) on the topic of AI into the map, sorted by focus, department, degree (BA/MA), region and study start (SS/WS).
